はじまり（Why I Decided to Start）
こんにちは、娘が3歳が毎日スポンジのように新しい言葉や歌を覚え、アウトプットしているのに驚きを隠せない、えむじパパです。
（Hi there! I’m Emuji Papa, dad of a 3-year-old girl. I am always surprised seriously that She soaks up new words and songs like a sponge and shows them off every day. ）
最近は、よくTimeleszの”Rock This Party”やM!LKの”イイじゃん”を踊りながら歌っています。
(These days, she often sings “Rock This Party” from Timelesz and “イイじゃん” from M!lk with cool dance. )
そして、思いました。この時期から英語に触れ、楽しみながら使うことで苦労せずに英語を身に着けることができるのではと。
(Then that made me think. if she starts using English with just having fun from now, maybe she can pick it up naturally without all the struggles I went through.)
というのも、私自身(35歳)、学生のころから英語には興味があり独学で英語を学習してきました。
継続的ではありませんが12年以上は独学で英語を勉強をしていると思います。
（Well, I’m 35 now. I’ve always liked English and have been studying it for over 12 years. )
ただ現状はTOEICスコアは730と微妙、英会話スキルは簡単な単語や文章だと聞き取り、回答できますが、それ以外は雰囲気で分かった風な表情しながらごまかすレベルです。残念。
(However My TOEIC score is around 730—meh, not great, not terrible. I can handle simple English in conversations, but I can’t handle beyond that… I just smile and pretend to know it）
「oh Yes.., 苦笑」「Nice…., 苦笑」とか
(“Oh yes… wkward smile”,“Nice… nervous laugh”)
なので、子供には英語に対する苦労をしてほしくないといいう思いと、私自身英語を諦めてはないので英語力アップのために親子で一緒に英会話ができたら楽しんじゃないかと思い、記録に残そうと思いました。
(That’s why I don’t want my kid to go through the same pain with English. And honestly, I still want to improve my English myself. Then I thought it would be fun to practice English conversation with my children to improve our English, so I decided to keep a record of it.)
おそらく、同じような想いや悩みを持たれているお父さん、お母さんがたくさんいると思うので、一緒に学んでいけたらうれしいです。
(I’m pretty sure there are a lot of dads and moms these who feel the same way. Hopefully, sharing our little journey will give you some encouragement too!)
